What is Adept's Rerisen?
Adept's Rerisen is an invite-only sandbox set in the world of the Golden Sun franchise! Character's arrive having lost any of their powers from their homeworld, but have gained the power of Psynergy. Players have the option to work together to solve the riddle of why and how their characters were brought here, although meta-plot participation isn't required. The goal of this sandbox is to allow players to have fun by giving their muses elemental-themed powers.
I don't know anything about Golden Sun! Can I still join?
Absolutely! Players do not need to be familiar with the Golden Sun franchise to play in Adept's Rerisen. World and power info is located in the directory.
How do I app here?
There is no app, simply a claim form. Fill out the claim form by listing your handle, character, canon, contact info, and invitee. At this time, Adept's Rerisen is invite-only. Players must secure an invite from the lead mod or somebody on the lead mod's friendlist to join.
What's Activity check like?
Activity is check in only. Check-in serves two purposes. First, it confirms activity. Secondly, it allows players a chance at the Lucky Medal Fountain in the center of Tobli.
The Lucky Medal Fountain sounds interesting! What's that?
The Lucky Medal fountain is in the center of the city of Tobli. Each month, characters are given a set number of lucky medals they can throw into the fountain. Throwing a medal into the fountain will reward them with an item. The item could be something simple, like a new outfit or piece of jewelry, or something powerful, like a new weapon. Lucky characters might even regain items from home from the fountain.
How many chances at the Lucky Fountain does my character get?
Characters get one chance at the fountain for checking in, and can have up to two additional chances for submitting bonus threads (10+ comments from the player submitting activity).
What about events?
Currently, the plan is to have a "plot-heavy" event every other month. In the off-months, characters are free to go on quests, explore more of the world, and do whatever they please.
In-Character
How and where did my character get here?
Characters have no memory of arriving in Weyard. One moment, they were going about their business on their homeworld, and the next they woke up somewhere in Weyard.
Where characters woke up is left up to the players to decide. Anywhere on the world map (sans Vale) is fair game. For players who don't want to decide or are unfamiliar with the world of Weyard, the default location is Tobli, the main setting of the game.
Where is my character now?
At the start of the game, your character will be in Tobli, the commercial center of the Angaran continent. They received an invitation from Iodem, the city's current leader, to attend a banquet at the end of the month. The banquet will also function as the intro log.
What if my character doesn't want to go?
They don't have to. Metaplot participation is not required. If characters don't want to attend the plot events, they're welcome to take advantage of all that Tobli has to offer. Tobli is the largest city in Weyard, so anything one could expect to find in a medieval fantasy setting can be found here.
What if I app my character after the game's introduction?
They will still receive an invitation to Tobli, although they're likely to miss the opening banquet. Once your character arrives in Tobli, Iodem will brief them privately about the situation they find themselves in.
Will world NPCs recognize my character as different?
World NPCs will not recognize your character as different unless they are visually distinct from the world already. For example, characters that are human in appearance aren't likely to catch any extra attention, but if Alphonse Elric starts walking around as a giant suit of armor, he's likely to raise a few eyebrows. That being said, while people may be cautious, they are not spiteful towards player characters (without reason).
The exception to this is other Adepts. NPC adepts will be able to notice and recognize player characters by their respective elements, just as player characters can do to each other. It's nothing to worry about. Probably.
Out of Character
Who can I app here?
Right now, Adept's Rerisen accepts canon characters, OCs, CRAU, etc. The only restriction is on doubles or duplicates of characters. Basically, if you can think to app it, it's probably okay.
What about malleable protagonists?
Malleable protagonists are able to be apped. This includes characters like the inquisitors and the Warrior of Light. There is no limit for how many copies of a malleable protagonist can be apped at this time.
I have a character that isn't covered on this list!
Ask the mod. It's probably okay.
